Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park in Tanzania spans approximately 14,763 square kilometres (5,700 square miles), making it comparable in size to the U.S. state of Connecticut, which covers about 14,357 square kilometres (5,543 square miles). This vast expanse of protected land is renowned for its diverse ecosystems, including expansive savannahs, acacia woodlands, and riverine forests.

The park is home to the world-famous Great Migration, where over 1.5 million wildebeest and 250,000 zebras traverse its plains in search of fresh grazing grounds. Additionally, Serengeti boasts a rich array of wildlife, including the largest lion population in Africa, as well as leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and more than 500 bird species.
