Itinerary Details

Day 1 Arusha – Kigoma – Lake Tanganyika Arrival
- Morning flight from Arusha to Kigoma, with aerial views over central Tanzania.
- Upon arrival, transfer to Kibirizi Port for a private boat ride along the scenic shores of Lake Tanganyika.
- Arrive at your lodge in Gombe Stream National Park, set between forested hills and the beach.
- Afternoon at leisure—relax by the lake, enjoy birdwatching, or take a guided forest walk.
Overnight: Gombe Forest Lodge / Similar
Day 2 Chimpanzee Trekking & Forest Exploration
- After an early breakfast, set off on a guided chimpanzee trek into the tropical forest.
- Track one of the habituated chimp communities as they move, feed, and socialize in their natural habitat.
- In the afternoon, visit Kakombe Waterfall or follow forest trails rich in birdlife, butterflies, and smaller primates.
- Return to the lodge in time for sunset on the beach.

Day 3 Second Chimp Trek & Lakeshore Leisure
- Embark on a second chimpanzee tracking experience, increasing chances for deeper observation and photography.
- Optional visit to Jane Goodall’s research station (subject to permissions and current activity).
- Spend your afternoon enjoying the tranquility of Lake Tanganyika—swimming, kayaking, or nature walks.
Overnight: Same lodge in Gombe
Day 4 Gombe – Kigoma – Return to Arusha
- After breakfast, take a boat transfer back to Kigoma.
- Fly from Kigoma to Arusha, arriving in the afternoon.
