Fundu Lagoon

Location: Fundu Lagoon is a remote and peaceful resort, accessible only by boar.  It is set on a beautiful beach in the south west of Pemba Island

Accommodation: Wooden walkways and sandy paths lead to 18 makuti-thatched tented rooms and suites - all rooms have breath-taking views of the Indian Ocean. There are three categories of rooms – standard, suites and superior suites.

Hill side accommodation enjoys fantastic views of the Indian Ocean as well as cooling night time breeze.

Beach front accommodation is shaded by tropical trees and shrubs. The sandy beach is literally on your doorstep.

Suites have private chill out areas and plunge pools and superior suites offer larger accommodation and a choice of outdoor area as well as their own super sized plunge pools

Facilities: Meals are served in the main dining area, at the jetty bar, around the pool or in a traditional picnic basket. Beach barbeques are a regular feature. Jetty Bar – one third of the way out to the sea, this is a favourite for comfy lounge sitting and the ocean beneath your feet; Pool Bar – raised over the hillside alongside the pool; Bar – is the social hub of the hotel and both massage and beauty treatments are available at Fundu Lagoon’s spa

Activities: Snorkeling and swimming, full PADI open water diving, catamaran sailing, traditional sailing or local fishing trips

 

 

 

 

The Manta Reef

Location: The lodge is situated on a cliff-face overlooking a heavenly, five km stretch of beach along the Kigomasha Peninsula on the northern tip of Pemba.

Accommodation: There are three categories of rooms:

Seafront Villas - Six newly built luxury sea front villas. These air- conditioned villas are spacious and private, with a centred king size bed and large en-suite bathroom. A secluded sun terrace faces a spectacular ocean sunset.

Garden Rooms - Two pairs make up the four garden rooms with views of the sea between the foliage. One of the two pairs has an interconnecting door which makes it an excellent choice for families or larger groups. The Garden Rooms are air conditioned with a king size four poster bed and private makuti thatch covered terrace.

The Village -- The brand new cottages is an affordable accommodation. They are nicely set in the gardens with king size beds, en-suite bathrooms, and a makuti-thatched verandah – all with views overlooking the Pemba channel

Facilities: Meals are served on the main building verandah. Menu includes mouth-watering variety of the largest, freshest locally caught fish and seafood. A well stocked bar serves drinks all day on the beach and throughout the resort.

Activities:  Diving, snorkeling, PADI Dive Center; big game fishing, dolphins and whale watching, the sandbanks, kayaking; bird watching, visit the Ngezi forest and excursions – inland island trip and sunset fishing trip
