Roy Safaris Limited was established in 1989. At that time tourism in Tanzania was changing, the private sector was being actively encouraged to play a positive role in this sector as part of a wider effort to develop the economy.

For Roy Safaris and its founders, our mission was to create an organization that would focus on an individual traveller, provide value for money and personalised services to our customers. Over two decades have passed since our company was formed. Looking back, we are proud of our achievements:-

• In 1989, we started with 1 safari vehicle. Today Roy Safaris operates a fleet of 26 customized safari vehicles which are regarded as trend setters in the industry.
  
  
• We own our own Arusha headquarters from where all our operations are controlled. This fully-equipped office facilitates the efficient handling of client requests, operational matters and team training.
  
  
• Our state-of-the-art maintenance facility allows us to maintain our vehicles to the highest standards.
  
  
• We are a recognized brand name with excellent product reviews from electronic and print media.
  
  
• Our experienced team of safari committed consultants, driver/guides, and support staff are trained to the highest standards. Roy Safaris provides direct employment to over 55 people.
  
  
• In line with our policy of vertical integration in the hospitality industry, in 2008 we opened our first hotel in Arusha, The African Tulip, which has turned out to be a great success. In Early 2013 we anticipate opening a hotel near Ngorongoro. We strongly believe that these developments coupled with our commitment to ensuring quality at each stage of service delivery, will enable us offer our customers a holiday of a lifetime!
  
  
• Responsible tourism is an integral part of our company. Roy Safaris continually works to minimize its carbon footprint. We work to ensure our vehicles are well maintained and use suitable fuel to achieve this goal. As part of our commitment to reduce our carbon footprint, we have planted 21,000 indigenous trees near Ngorongoro forest as part of our reforestation program.
  
  
• We have an active Corporate social responsibility agenda. Roy Safaris, through the Sasha Foundation, supports the empowering of women and children in the areas we operate in. Our support includes the provision of funding for the construction of classrooms, school fees and clean water.
